Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Adelaide / Victor Harbor- (included: Lunch, Dinner)

Today we leave at 8am heading up to the Adelaide hills.

Our first stop is the Mt Lofty Summit with its stunning sweeping views of Adelaide, 710 metres above sea level and Adelaide’s highest peak!

We then make our way to the rural towns of Mt Barker and Strathalbyn before arriving at Goolwa, an historic river port on the Murray River near the Murray Mouth. We board the Spirit of the Coorong boat which will take us on a 3.5-hour cruise from Goolwa, across the Murray Mouth and into the Coorong National Park.

The cruise includes spectacular sand dune sceneries, wetland birdlife, expert captain’s commentary, aboriginal and European history, guided walks a delicious lunch and afternoon tea.

Once back on land we make our way to Victor Harbor via spectacular beaches for our overnight ensuite accommodation at the Anchorage Hotel.

Day 2: Victor Harbour to Kangaroo Island (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

We travel via the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis, where we board the Kangaroo Island ferry across the Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw.

On arrival we make our way to Pennington Bay, this quick side trip is spectacular. The short drive reveals an amazing beach with towering cliffs, a photographer’s paradise. Our second stop is the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery.

After lunch, we visit Seal Bay and experience a guided walk along the beach to see the endangered Australian Sea-lions in their natural environment.

After a stop at Vivonne Bay, we head to Hanson Bay Koala Sanctuary before arriving at Western KI luxury cabins for our overnight ensuite accommodation.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Adelaide (Breakfast, Lunch)

After breakfast, we drive into the Flinders Chase National Park, a huge wilderness area which covers most of the western part of the island. We visit Remarkable Rocks, one of the best-known icons of Kangaroo Island.

They form what appears to be a cluster of precariously balanced granite boulders. This stunning work of nature has been shaped by the erosive forces of wind, sea spray and rain over some 500 million years.

A short drive away we arrive at Admiral’s Arch located at Cape du Couedic. A viewing platform and boardwalk around a cliff face leads us to this spectacular natural rock arch known as Admiral’s Arch where we can observe a colony of New Zealand fur-seals.

We have lunch at the visitor centre and then we head to the northern side of the island driving back toward Penneshaw in time for our ferry back to Adelaide.
